Google has announced that Gemini Gems are transitioning to modular Skills across Workspace and Education domains. In this briefing, Stephen Wiles breaks down the official transition deadlines, demystifies the SKILL.md folder packaging protocol, and explains how to update your Google Workspace Studio flows without losing a single line of pedagogical work.
Stop spending your evenings manually reading and sorting qualitative submissions[cite: 2, 5]. Discover how to build an Asynchronous Diagnostic Engine using Google Workspace Studio, custom Gemini Gems, and the Extract tool to triage raw feedback, from student exit slips to staff CPD, into visual dashboards and targeted support briefings automatically.
Moving data manually between intake forms, spreadsheets, and email inboxes isn’t system design—it’s administrative friction. Discover how to build a domain-safe, event-driven automation workflow that triages inquiries, updates your master database, and drafts human-in-the-loop responses in under three seconds.
Stop chasing lost emails and repeating basic policy rules. Learn how to use Gemini Notebook to build a secure, centralised “Institutional Knowledge Base” and create a clear Matrix of Responsibility for your entire school community.
Stop drowning parents in “Teacher-speak.” Discover how to safely use NotebookLM as a pedagogical architecture tool to turn dense, complex departmental handbooks into clear, actionable study guides and audio briefings for your school community.
Schools are in the business of policy, but those 10-page “legalese” PDFs are often a barrier to parent engagement. In this video, I demonstrate The Policy Translator, a source-grounded workflow using NotebookLM that transforms dry, statutory documents into warm, parent-friendly FAQs in seconds. Stop being a ‘Policy Publisher’ and start being a ‘Policy Communicator’. Discover how to turn your static Staff or Parent Handbooks into a dynamic conversation while keeping a strict ‘Human-in-the-Loop’ on your school’s unique voice and professional standards.
Stop assuming your strategy is complete. Discover the ‘Gap Finder Protocol’—a professional interrogation workflow using NotebookLM to cross-reference your SIP. Learn to ‘Red Team’ your school on a Tuesday afternoon to find hidden risks before the auditors arrive on Wednesday morning. Don’t just be informed; be prepared.
Stop letting statutory updates steal your Sundays. Most school leaders treat the NotebookLM Audio Overview as a generic podcast; the ‘Steerable Audio Protocol’ turns it into a bespoke executive briefing. Reclaim your morning commute and learn how to ‘read’ a 50-page DfE update in just 10 minutes.
Information in schools is often “liquid”; it flows through emails, PDFs, and spreadsheets, but rarely settles where we need it most. As school leaders, we don’t need more data – we need synthesis.
Stop the “AI-slop.” Move from random image generation to a persistent, school-branded visual system. This build shows you how to program a Gem with a specific “Style Sheet,” ensuring every icon, banner, and graphic stays perfectly aligned with your institutional identity.
Turn your static Staff Handbook into a dynamic GPS. This concept moves beyond simple document search, using a persistent Gem to provide instant, context-aware policy guidance that stays grounded in your school’s specific “rules of the road.”
Stop sending “Cold Data” home. This Gem transforms raw classroom notes into empathetic, professional communications that bridge the gap between school and home. Discover how to engineer tone while keeping the human in the loop.
